This 40' Standard Box Car with Double Doors is painted grey with a dark grey stripe running the length of the car side with white lettering.  This box car was built at Union Pacific's Omaha, Nebraska Shops in December of 1940.  It was rebuilt in July of 1946.  Number UP 9213 is part of a 10 car fleet, which was used specifically in express service.  To that end they were equipped with Allied Full Cushion Trucks (designed for high speed freight cars). This express fleet covered in a month as most cars covered in a year.
