This 39' Single Dome Tank Car is painted maroon with yellow lettering.  It sports the Chicago Great Western Circle Logo painted orange with a white border showing black lettering.  Tank cars in this series were color coded, with the most cars painted maroon, designating the hauling of fuel oil (diesel oil) then green was used for lube oil; silver was for kerosene and finally black for straight oil.  Chicago Great Western would buy when and where the price was right and store the fuel in large storage tanks in Oelwein until needed.
