This Heavyweight Depressed Center Flat Car is painted box car red with white logo and  lettering.  It was equipped with steel loading floors.  The Southern Railway was the product of nearly 150 predecessor lines that were combined, reorganized and recombined beginning in the 1830's, formally becoming the Southern Railway in 1894.  It was placed under the control of the Norfolk Southern Corporation, along with the Norfolk and Western Railway and was renamed Norfolk Southern Railway in the year 1990.
