This 40' Double Sheathed Wood Reefer is painted box car red with yellow billboard sides and black lettering.  A large 5 cent symbol painted red is shown on the right side of the car indicating the price everywhere was just a nickle.  Elwood's Root Beer was manufactured by the J.O. Elwood Beverage Company and the product was advertised as being wholesome and refreshing.

Some may remember Elwood's Root Beer as one of the earliest fantasy cars made by Micro-Trains which was first released in October 1986.  MTL is now pleased to reprint this car with a new road number and a vintage style insert.  Micro-Trains hopes that you join in the fun celebrating this years "April Fools" Day.
