This 40' Standard Box Car with Single Door, Full Ladders and No Roofwalk is painted brown with white lettering.  Due to the cylindrical grain hoppers being too heavy for the permafrost in the roadbed 1,615  40' box cars were rebuilt to be specifically used in grain service.  These cars carried grain north to Churchill or east to Thunder Bay from mid-July until the end of October and then sat in storage for the rest of the year.
