This 40' Double Sheathed Wood Reefer with Vertical Brake Wheel is painted brown with white lettering.  Hercules Powder Company was one of the most significant explosives and chemical factories in the world.  Land was purchased on San Pablo Bay, California, to relocate their dynamite production away from the more populated San Francisco area to an area of undeveloped land.
