The "Bear" logo with the slogan "Stark Trees Bear Fruit" is shown on the side of the car painted black. In 1816, James Hart Stark and a small band of pioneers moved from Hutchison, Kentucky. They settled on the west bank of the Mississippi in a place that would later become Louisiana, Missouri. With him, Stark brought a bundle of apple scions from his family orchard. From this bundle grew a thriving nursery business. The most famous of the applers is the Stark Red Delicious Apple from 1893 and the Stark Golden Delicious Apple from 1914. In 2013, the Stark Brothers and Miller Nurseries joined forces and as they now move into their third century of operations, the Stark Brothers are now the largest on-line direct to consumer nursery company in the United States. | | | | | | | |
