This 50' Standard Box Car with Plug and Sliding Door and No Roofwalk is painted brown with black ends and aluminum roof.  It bears the Rio Grande "Action Road" logo in white and sports white lettering.  This car was built by General American Transportation Corporation.  This 100 car series has a combination of an 8' sliding door and a 7' auxiliary plug door.  Most of the Grande's combination-door cars were used in general service.  The 15' total opening also made them adaptable for hauling wallboard and all forest products.  These cars are also equipped with a 20" travel cushioned underframe.
