The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (CB&Q) was a Class 1 railroad after a number of smaller companies merged on February 14, 1855. The railroad operated in the Mid Western United States. It was commonly known as the Burlington. The Burlington Route served a large area including the States of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Wyoming, New Mexico and Texas. Due to their extensive trackage the railroad used the advertising slogans - "Everywhere West", "Way of the Zephyrs" and the "Way West". It finally merged with the Burlington Northern Railroad in the year 1970. | | | | | |
