This 50' Standard Box Car with Plug Door is painted box car red with white lettering.  The Chicago & North Western Transportation Company with reporting marks CNW was a Class I railroad located in the Mid West United States.  It was also know as the North Western.  The CNW was chartered on June 7th, 1859.  The company flourished over the years, growing through mergers and acquisitions of different smaller railroad lines but was eventurally sold and merged with the Union Pacific Railroad.
