This 40' Double Sheathed Wood Box Car with Single Door is painted Tuscan Red with white lettering.  Sporting the "3M Company" Logo as a red oval with white lettering on the right side of the car.  Five business men founded the 3M Company in Two Harbors, Minnesota in 1902.  The Company began by mining stone from quarries for use in grinding wheels.  The 3M Company, formerly the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co., is an American multinational conglomerate corporation based in Maplewood, Minnesota.  The company finally became financially stable in 1916.  The Maplewwod complex consists of 475 acres of land with over 50 buildings, including an innovation center that displays products that 3M has taken to market.
