It was built in late 1956 and ran the Trans-Canada in the 1950's. The Pacific Great Eastern Railroad (PGE) was a railway that operated in the Canadian Province of British Columbia. It was a Class II regional railway and the third largest in Canada. It eventually operated 1,441 miles of mainline track. It was owned by the Provincial Grovernment starting in 1918. In 1972, it became British Columbia Railway (BCR) and in 1984 it became BC Rail.
