This 50' Standard Box Car with Plug Door is painted Glacier Green with a Red Door and white lettering.  Between 1961 and 1967, Great Northern painted mostly newly refitted and rebuilt box cars Glacier Green, a shade of light green similar to the color of the glacial melt water of the Rocky Mountains, a route through which the GN passes.  The car bears the "Rocky" tri-colored herald and on the oppositie side of the car "Rocky" shown pointing to the label "Cushioned Ride" a new lettering scheme representing GN's innovative underframe design that was developed and introduced in 1962.  This car was built by American Car & Foundry and then formed part of the GN stables.
