This 60' Box Car with Double Plug Doors is painted box car red with white lettering.  This box car has riveted sides with a short 41'-3" wheel base.  It was built by the Greenville Steel Car Company.  These cars were finally developed in response to the rapidly changing needs of the automotive industry in the 1960's.  The Ford Motor Company urged all manufacturers to develop a railroad car fleet to take care of their changing needs.  For the first time competing railways and car builders cooperated to expedite development to meet the demand.  The 60' Double Plug Door Box Car was designed for transporting high-density components.  Ford and the Wabash initiated this innovation.
