This 40' Standard Box Car with Plug Door is painted brown with white lettering.  This car was built in March of 1959 and serviced in August of 1972.  It was part of a fleet of 100 cars that were used to haul high-end classes of merchandise, as was indicated by the note to the left of the door,"specifically equipped car".  From the late 1960's to the early 1980's the "O" in Southern was painted green to accompany the road's slogan, "gives a green light to innovation".
